It is time to see the incredible life of the tropical forest like you have never seen it before. You will have easy access to many wonderful tours of the rain forest, the Arenal and Rincon de la Vieja active volcanoes. Participate in 4-wheeling or horseback riding tours. Spend a day hiking or take short walks and drink in the splendor of the unspoiled wilderness. These tours are some of the most popular excursions for visitors to Costa Rica. You may choose from one of several tours:

Hiking The Rain Forest

Hike into the rain forest area for three hours where you can see and learn about all of the vegetation, some of the local animals, and see one Costa Rican Indian reserve. It takes two and a half hours one way to get there. We offer this tour by itself or as an addition to the Arenal Volcano full day tour. If you combine this tour with the Arenal Volcano tour, you will be picked up at 7:00 AM and then return to the villa around 11:00 PM.

Rain Forest Tour only: $125 per person cash, 4 person minimum

Day Trip to Arenal Volcano and Tabacon Springs

The Arenal Volcano is a famous cone-shaped volcano that rumbles daily and spits lava in the night, earning it the reputation as one of the most active volcanoes in the world. It is surrounded by dense rain forest, filled with waterfalls and wildlife. Your hiking tour will take you through the most incredible sights of the Arenal Lake.

Arrive at Tabacon Hot Springs at the perfect time to enjoy the curative and relaxing pools of steaming mineral waters heated by the volcano. When it gets dark, you may be lucky to see the red lava coming down the side of the volcano, a natural wonder ruled by Mother Nature.

Tizate Wellness at Rincon de la Vieja Luxury Combo Tour

This amazing day is made up of a variety of activities at the Rincon de la Vieja National Park.

You may choose to start your tour with an optional activity—careening on inner tubes down a 1300 foot water slide. This is sure to wake you up! Next you will enjoy an extraordinary Costa Rican lunch before heading out on horseback and a short hike to a beautiful waterfall. You also have an option of taking a four-wheel vehicle on a different route, if horseback riding isn't your cup of tea. Either way, multiple trails lead through beautiful forest to the incredible waterfall, open grassy slopes, and the wide array of volcanic features.

After the ride and hike, you can relax your muscles in a sauna built over the natural steaming vents from the volcano. Then enjoy a mud bath by applying warm clay that has been gathered from the nearby boiling deposits. This clay does wonders for your skin and the natural, warm mineral pools soak away stress and muscle aches.

Full day Tizate Wellness at Rincon de la Vieja Luxury Combo Tour Includes transportation (about 1 hour from the villas), lunch, refreshments, and admission to the park. The water slide is optional for an additional $15 for as many trips down as you can handle, and as time for other activities permits.
